Not  A Second Bedroom

Transforming under-utilized high street bank branches into vibrant community hubs for female-led SMEs, connecting them with space and support to thrive.

Female entrepreneurs represent only 20% of founders, with just 2% securing VC funding. Through qualitative research, I uncovered significant gender disparities and the digital barriers SMEs face. To address these challenges, we launched the Not A Second Bedroom (NAB) initiative—entreprenerial hubs within underused bank branches, providing flexible workspaces, tailored financial services, networking, and mentorship. NAB offers essential support for female entrepreneurs, fostering business growth and positioning the bank as a key partner in their success.

ReRitual

Sustainable memorial service to reduce the environmental impacts of rubber balloons

In this sustainable design project, we focused on the overlooked environmental impact of disposable latex balloons. By analyzing consumer behavior and critiquing disposability culture, we identified design interventions. Collaborating with LokaReboon, we proposed setting up balloon recycling bins at weddings and turning collected balloons into keepsakes. This initiative aimed to enhance emotional engagement and recycling motivation, creating a "sustainable memorial ritual" service.
