Design Principles

Strategic DecisionsConsidering available stakeholder resources and the team's capabilities, we strategically chose to collaborate with Joana and Rachel to plan the next community event. Empowered by sustainable principles, we aim to create a swap event for mothers of children aged 0-3, offering convenience, practicality, and leisure value.

Theory of Change, a Stroller-Friendly Swap Initiative

In Hounslow, while supermarket strolling offers a low-guilt leisure option for mothers, large supermarkets are far from residential areas, requiring over 40 minutes of travel. Nearby convenience stores and lottery shops lack stroller-friendly spaces, failing to meet mothers' hidden leisure needs.

Based on the insight that traditional supermarkets meet mothers' hidden leisure needs, we aim to use government and nonprofit resources to create more inclusive and accessible leisure services. This will connect mothers with the community, break isolation, build social support, and enhance quality of life and mental health.
