Developing cross-platform application to enhance data retrieval & management for Bosch Global Business Services.

OVERVIEW
As a UI/UX intern on the OSTIN project team at Bosch, I designed a multi-purpose plugin to address the company's fragmented information and large data challenges. This plugin integrates multiple databases and provides customized information retrieval and recommendation services, enhancing data management across global operations.

Collaborating closely with product managers, pilot communities, and developers in an Agile environment, I redesigned the information architecture and optimized the user experience based on qualitative and quantitative feedback. I also facilitated a workshop with the GS APAC President to align stakeholder expectations with product OKRs. My contributions led to a 15% increase in monthly active users and a 17% rise in daily activity, significantly boosting user engagement and efficiency.

DESIGN TASKS 1/7

Redesign Broadcast Announcement  

ChallengeThe current broadcast system displays announcements as carousel cards on the homepage, requiring extra clicks to view full content. This increases interaction costs and limits visibility of important information. Admins also lack the ability to track click counts for each announcement.
Design Goal
  • Enhance Interaction: Make important content accessible with fewer clicks.
  • Enable Tracking:  Admins can track click counts for each announcement.
  • Improve UI: Boost click-through rates by refining the visual presentation.


Ideal Use CaseUsers click on homepage announcement cards to immediately view important content, while admins track click counts to gauge engagement.

Design Iterations
  • Distinct Labels: Clearly label each announcement for easy identification.
  • Popup Content Display: Clicking a card opens a popup with full content.
  • Click Tracking: Track and report click counts to the admin portal.

Launch Auto-Integrated Topic Feature


ChallengeThe current manual topic curation process requires significant effort, diminishing admins' motivation to curate content. Additionally, the Topic feature lacks clear differentiation from the Broadcast feature, leading to potential user confusion.


    Design Goal
    • Streamline Curation: Introduce auto-integration to reduce curation effort while maintaining compatibility with manual integration.
    • Clarify Functionality: Clearly differentiate the Topic feature from the Broadcast feature to enhance user understanding.
    • Improve User Interaction: Enhance the Topic feature by integrating feedback and search functionalities.


    Ideal Use CaseAdmins define topic integration rules that allow automatic content updates and screening, while still supporting manually integrated topics. Users can easily browse topics on the homepage and provide feedback to better understand user interests.

    Design Innovation
    • Integration Options: Provide both manual and automatic topic integration options to cater to different admin needs.
    • Feature Differentiation: Redefine the Topic feature to clearly distinguish it from the Broadcast feature.
    • Enhanced Functionalities: Implement feedback and search functionalities within each topic for a more interactive user experience.
